Seong Eun Kim (Ph.D. student), Kyuwon Kim and Jeanhee Lee (M.S. student), and Professor Hyo-Jeong So received the 2025 Outstanding Research Award from the Journal of Educational Information and Media. The findings highlighted the importance of designing learning environments that delay premature consensus and promote the integration of diverse perspectives. Furthermore, the study demonstrated that dilemma-based dialogue games can serve as effective tools for fostering deliberative reasoning on complex ethical issues.

At the 2026 Spring Conference of the Korean Association for Educational Information and Media (KAEIM), Kyuwon Kim (M.S. student) received the Best Paper Award. The conference was held at Yonsei University on May 29–30, 2026, under the theme, "Expanding AI-Based Education and Ensuring Trustworthiness: Reframing the Future of Education." :::paper title: Examining the Effects of Participation and Functional Roles of LLM-Based Conversational Agents in Decision-Making on Controversial Issues type: Best Paper Award · 2026 KAEIM Spring Conference authors: Kyuwon Kim, Hyo-Jeong So ::: Kyuwon received the Best Paper Award for the study, "Examining the Effects of Participation and Functional Roles of LLM-Based Conversational Agents in Decision-Making on Controversial Issues." This study investigated how different roles performed by LLM-based conversational agents influence discussion processes and the quality of decisions in collaborative decision-making contexts. The findings demonstrated the educational potential of AI agents and showed that peer-role agents can go beyond simply providing information to facilitate learner interaction and deliberative engagement. The study also offers implications for the design of collaborative learning and decision-support systems powered by generative AI.
